How Much Does Pool Service Cost?
Want a number for your pool?
Flat, all-inclusive pricing — never a surprise add-on.
What Does Pool Service Cost in the DMV Area?
Unlike a custom pool build, routine pool service is priced simply. Pool opening and closing are flat seasonal rates, a pool inspection is one all-inclusive price, and our maintenance plans bundle everything — opening, closing, regular visits, and chemicals — into a single predictable annual cost.
The figures below reflect real DMV-area pricing for standard residential pools. We'd rather show you honest numbers upfront than quote low and surprise you later.

How much does pool maintenance cost?
Maintenance pricing depends on pool size, type, frequency, and the local area. To give you an accurate quote, we'll need to see the pool in person. As a general guide, weekly maintenance plans in the DMV area start in the range of $150–$250 per month depending on scope.
Fill out the form and we'll put together a personalized proposal based on your actual pool.
What does a weekly pool maintenance visit include?
A standard weekly visit includes:
- Water chemistry testing and chemical balancing
- Skimming the surface for debris
- Brushing pool walls and steps
- Emptying skimmer and pump baskets
- Vacuuming (scheduled or as needed)
- Equipment inspection — pump, filter, heater, automation
- Written service report detailing what was done and any issues noted
Specific inclusions can vary based on your service plan. During your consultation, we'll walk through exactly what's covered.
How much does a pool opening cost?
A professional pool opening is a flat $500, with the chemicals included — and a pool closing is the same $500. There are no surprise add-ons for standard openings; if your equipment turns out to need a repair after the winter, we'll flag it and quote it separately before doing any extra work. Opening and closing are also bundled into our full-service maintenance plans.
How much does a pool closing cost?
A professional pool closing and winterization is a flat $500, chemicals included — the same price as a pool opening. It's a small fraction of what a single hard freeze can cost in cracked pipes or equipment, which is why we recommend it every season. Opening and closing are also included in our full-service maintenance plans.
How much does a pool inspection cost?
A Beltway Pools inspection is a flat $450 — one transparent price that covers the full on-site assessment and a written report, regardless of pool type. There's no obligation to book any repairs we find. Compared to the cost of an undiscovered equipment failure or structural issue on a pool you're about to buy, it's one of the most cost-effective steps in the process.
What does a Beltway Pools inspection cover?
Our comprehensive pool inspection covers:
- Structural integrity – surface, tiles, coping, and decking for cracks or damage
- Plumbing & circulation – pipes, skimmers, and return lines for leaks or blockages
- Equipment performance – pump, filter, and heater operation and efficiency
- Electrical & safety systems – grounding, GFCI protection, lighting, and automation
- Water chemistry – chemical balance and sanitization review
You'll receive a clear summary of findings and any recommended repairs or replacements.
How often should a pool be professionally serviced?
For most residential pools in the DMV area, weekly professional service during the swim season (late April through October) is the standard recommendation. Bi-weekly service is available for pools with low bather load and robust automation systems, but weekly visits are better for water quality, equipment longevity, and catching problems early.
At a minimum, every pool should be professionally serviced at opening in spring and closing in fall. Year-round maintenance plans are also available for pools with heating systems that allow extended seasons.
See our maintenance plans — all include opening, closing, and seasonal service bundled at a predictable annual price.
Can I upgrade or change my maintenance plan mid-season?
Yes. If your schedule or pool usage changes during the season, you can upgrade from a Basic to a Deluxe or Premium plan, or adjust visit frequency with reasonable notice. We try to accommodate mid-season changes whenever our scheduling permits.
Contact our office to discuss adjustments — we'll find the best fit for your situation.

“Robert, Dragan, and their crew did an amazing job. I spent months getting quotes from several companies. Beltway pools’ wasn’t the least expensive but I felt that they were the most straightforward. Instead of just pushing me to replace everything, broken or not, they had more of a wait and see approach. They worked with us to come up with a plan to get the pool back operational as economically as possible, and then work on our “wants” list. Our pool had been closed for almost 10 years due to damage caused by changes in drainage made by construction in the neighborhood. At 65k gallons, the pool is extremely large and even more expensive than your average pool remodel. They removed several feet of debris, drained and scrubbed the pool, replace the tile & coping, the pool equipment, repairing equipment that could be fixed, and replacing what needed to be prioritized for upgrades. They did the entire project over a couple of weeks. They stated on time, stayed on budget, and were an absolute pleasure to work with. I have kept them on to handle the pool maintenance including opening and closing the pool and keeping it clean during the summer. Their prices are fantastic and as I mentioned, Robert isn’t going to sell you something that you don’t need. He’s going to help your pool become enjoyable again.”

“I had been searching for a new company for my weekly pool maintenance when I came across Beltway Pools, and I'm so glad I did. Sandra has been managing our pool's opening and weekly maintenance, and her attention to detail and expertise are truly outstanding. She has been incredibly patient with all my questions and maintains a friendly and professional demeanor at all times. Thanks to Sandra and her maintenance team, our pool is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. I cannot recommend Beltway Pools enough!”
